What We Said

Treasure Island is indeed a classic. It was fun to read the quintessential pirate book - yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! The plot is exciting and the characters memorable, however the language can be a barrier to complete understanding and enjoyment, and the rousing adventures of a 17-year-old boy don't make for a lengthy discussion for a group of 40-something women. In other words - a good book to include in your 'yes I've read' list, but maybe not a memorable women's book club choice. -Sue
