Hello my name is Sue Gray and I am a book-lover from West Seattle...

I've always loved reading and books.  In college I studied library science intending on becoming a school librarian, then switched to education with a reading/english focus.  Alas, I wound up working in an office manipulating data on a computer!  When I saw the Barefoot Books line, I realized that it's never too late to begin living the dream of selling books!  These children's books are beautiful, and embrace the multi-cultured world we live in.  Think of me as a traveling bookstore (home, school, and community), and online store for shopping or fundraising.  If you would like to host a party, or if your school or organization is having a book fair, please contact me at SueGray.BarefootBooks@comcast.net !

My book club website, www.WutheringBites.com was conceived by myself and fellow book-lover Steph as a way to share all of the books that our book club had read since its inception in 1992. In addition to our love of great literature, we have a shared passion for tasty food. A website seemed like the natural forum for sharing our interests, opinions and recipes. Literature and food are never-ending sources of inspiration and the book club continues to meet regularly to this day. Visit our site to see all the books we've read and Read, Eat and Enjoy!

Also, may I recommend another great site to shop for children - WonderBrains - where you can find quality educational toys, games, and puzzles that inspire the natural wonder and genius in all of us. Games and activities in all areas of education including communication, problem solving, math, music, science and creative play. WonderBrains is playful learning at its best for all kinds of minds!

In 2007, building on their mission to encourage children to embrace the world around them, Barefoot made a commitment to "Go Green". Part of this dedication is that Barefoot's books and catalogs are now printed on ancient forest friendly paper and all marketing items are made of recycled or recyclable material. "Ancient forest friendly" means that paper suppliers are obligated to replant trees that they have harvested, and that they do not damage rainforests or other ancient woodlands. In an effort to build on this initiative an alliance with another "Green Business" - Eco-Libris was formed.  Eco-Libris partners with organizations that work in developing countries to plant trees.  Through this new connection with Eco-Libris, I can now present my customers with a unique offer to purchase Eco-Libris stickers and plant a tree for the books bought at my stall. Each sticker retails at $1 and for each sticker sold Eco-Libris will plant 1.3 trees.

Go Barefoot, Go Green and Renew!
